Terms of sale
The rules of an order in this shop, in plain words. Made to order, paid in full, shipped from Budapest.
Version 1.0, October 7, 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
1.1The seller is WLWYB Global Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság (WLWYB Global Kft.), a Hungarian limited liability company trading as WLWYB, short for WE LOVE WHAT YOU BUILD. Registered seat: 1027 Budapest, Tölgyfa utca 24., Hungary. Company registration number: 01-09-342012, kept by the Company Registry Court of the Budapest-Capital Regional Court (Fővárosi Törvényszék Cégbírósága). Tax number: 26736583-2-41. EU VAT number: HU26736583. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean this company.
1.2Contact for orders and questions: wlwyb@wlwyb.com, +36 1 901 7420. We answer within one business day. Contact for data protection questions: privacy@wlwyb.com.
1.3These terms cover every order placed through WLWYB Open Editions, the self-service shop at shop.wlwyb.com, and paid at its checkout, checkout.wlwyb.com. They do not cover models the studio designs on commission. Those are agreed separately.
1.4The shop is built for businesses. A private individual can order too. Where a rule is different for a consumer, these terms say so. A consumer is a person buying for purposes outside their trade, business or profession.
1.5The shop and these terms are in English, and English is the only language in which you can place an order. We do not file a separate contract document for each order. Your order confirmation email, together with these terms, is the record of the contract, so keep that email.
1.6The website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (San Francisco, California, USA). The checkout is run by Shopify.
2. What you are buying
2.1You are buying a building kit for a model built from LEGO® bricks, chosen from our catalog. You can have your own artwork printed on it. The model is our design and the kit is made by us. It is not a product of the LEGO Group.
2.2LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group of companies which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site. The same is true of this shop and of everything sold through it.
2.3It arrives as a kit, not as an assembled model. Every piece is a new, genuine LEGO® element. The pieces come bagged, each kit in its own plain cardboard box, and the building instructions come as a PDF. Building the model is part of what you are buying.
2.4Each model has one or more preset print areas. The model's page states each area's printed size. Each print area is optional and is priced on top of the price of the kit. An area you do not choose arrives without print.
2.5We print on brick and plate faces, and never on a minifigure.
2.6Everything is made to order. Nothing is sold from stock.
2.7The minimum order is 20 kits per design. A different model, or the same model with different artwork, is a different design with its own minimum.
2.8The kits are not toys for children. They contain small parts, they are made for adults, and the building instructions carry a choking hazard warning.
3. Your artwork
3.1You upload the artwork and we print it. You confirm that you own the artwork or hold every license and permission needed to have it printed on the goods you order, and that printing it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, design right, right to their own image, or any other right.
3.2We do not verify your rights. We do not ask for a license or any other paperwork, and a company's own logo on that company's order is printed without question.
3.3We do decline artwork that is unlawful, artwork that we recognize as someone else's property (a film, game or entertainment franchise, a sports club crest, a well-known brand that is plainly not yours, a public figure's likeness), and artwork we do not want associated with our studio. If we decline your artwork after you have paid, we cancel the order, refund you in full, tell you why, and offer to look at a different design.
3.4If you order as a business, you will compensate us for any claim, loss or cost, including reasonable legal costs, that a third party brings against us because of the artwork you uploaded or because we printed it as you instructed.
3.5You keep every right in your artwork. You give us permission to store, process and reproduce it only as far as needed to prepare, check, print and deliver your order, to answer questions about it, and to make the same goods again if you order them again. We do not use your artwork for anything else, and we do not show it as our own work.
4. The artwork check
4.1A person checks the artwork of every order before production.
4.2If the artwork cannot be printed as it is, we write to you within one business day of your order and tell you what needs to change.
4.3You can then send a corrected file. When the corrected file passes the check, production starts, and the 6 weeks in the section on shipping run from that day.
4.4If the artwork cannot be made printable, or you do not want to change it, we cancel the order and refund you in full. We charge no fee for this.
4.5The check is a production check. It is not a design service, and it is not a confirmation that you have the right to use the artwork.
5. The preview and the print
5.1The preview shows your artwork on the model. What the preview shows is what we print: which parts of your artwork are printed, whether its background is printed or removed, and any adjustment you kept. The version on the model when you add it to your order is the version you approve.
5.2Where we can, the shop offers adjusted versions of your file, for example with the background removed or with colors that would disappear on the brick lightened or darkened. We never change your artwork without telling you. Every adjustment is shown on the page and can be undone. If you undo it, we print the file as you chose, even if it will be hard to see on the brick.
5.3We print from the file you approved, never from a screenshot of the preview. We keep your original file, the approved file and the preview with your order.
5.4The preview decides what is printed, not the exact color. A screen and a print are different things. Printed color will be close to what you saw, not identical.
5.5Small differences in brick color between production batches, and the normal tolerances of LEGO® bricks, are not defects.
5.6The print areas are small. Very fine lines and very small type may not reproduce clearly at these sizes. The artwork check flags what we can see will not print well. If a detail matters to you, ask us before you order.
6. Ordering, prices and payment
6.1All prices are in euro (EUR). The price per kit depends on the quantity you order. Printing is charged per print area, per kit.
6.2Prices are shown with or without VAT, as you choose on the page. The checkout states the VAT charged, and adds shipping and any duties and import taxes. The checkout shows the full amount, with every tax and charge, before you pay.
6.3Your order is an offer to buy. The contract is made when we confirm your order by email.
6.4You pay in full when you order. We take no deposits and offer no payment terms.
6.5You can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. We do not accept bank transfers. Payments are processed by Shopify Payments. We never see or store your full card number.
6.6If a price on the site is an obvious mistake, we may cancel the order and refund you in full.
7. VAT and invoices
7.1VAT is calculated at checkout from the country the order ships to.
7.2Orders shipped to Hungary carry Hungarian VAT at 27%, with or without a VAT number.
7.3Orders shipped to another EU country carry that country's VAT. If you are a business and enter a valid EU VAT number at checkout, no VAT is charged: the sale is a VAT-exempt intra-Community supply, and you account for the VAT in your own country (the reverse charge).
7.4Your VAT number is checked against the European Commission's VIES register at checkout. If the number cannot be confirmed, or VIES is not available at that moment, VAT is charged. If you believe a valid number was rejected, write to wlwyb@wlwyb.com before you pay.
7.5Orders shipped outside the EU are exports and carry no Hungarian or EU VAT. The import taxes of the destination country are covered in the section on customs duties.
7.6We send an invoice by email, normally within 24 hours of your order.
8. Shipping and delivery
8.1We ship from Budapest, Hungary, with FedEx. Every shipment is tracked.
8.2We ship within 6 weeks of your payment, or of the day we accept your corrected artwork, whichever is later. FedEx's transit time comes on top. Delivery times are FedEx's published estimates for the service and the destination. They are not guaranteed, and they are not our promise.
8.3You choose between two services at checkout: FedEx Economy and FedEx Priority. The shipping price is a fixed price set by the destination and the weight of your order. You see it at checkout before you pay.
8.4We ship to the countries the checkout offers. If your country is not offered, write to us.
8.5If we cannot ship within the 6 weeks, we tell you as soon as we know. You can then wait or cancel the order and be refunded in full.
8.6Please give a complete delivery address and a phone number FedEx can reach, and make sure someone can receive the parcel. If a parcel comes back to us because the address was wrong or incomplete, or because nobody accepted it, you pay the return cost and the cost of sending it again.
8.7The risk of loss or damage passes to you when the parcel is delivered to the address you gave.
9. Customs duties and import taxes
9.1Inside the EU there are no customs duties.
9.2For destinations outside the EU, customs duties and import taxes are calculated at checkout and you pay them in advance, with your order. Nothing should be collected from you on delivery. If FedEx or a customs office asks you to pay anything for the parcel, tell us before you pay it and we will sort it out.
9.3You are the importer of the goods in the destination country. It is your responsibility to make sure the goods may be imported there.
9.4Whether your business can reclaim import VAT paid this way depends on the rules of your country. We cannot promise it. Ask your tax adviser.
10. Changes and cancellation
10.1You can cancel free of charge until production starts. Production starts when your artwork passes our check, which is usually within one business day of your order.
10.2To cancel or change an order, write to wlwyb@wlwyb.com with your order number. We tell you the same business day whether production has started. If it has not, we cancel and refund you in full, or make the change.
10.3Once production has started we cannot cancel or change the order, because the goods are made only for you.
10.4Refunds go to the payment method you used, within 5 business days of the cancellation. Your bank may need a few more days to show it.
11. Returns and the right of withdrawal
11.1Made-to-order goods cannot be returned or exchanged, and we do not refund an order because you changed your mind. This does not limit your rights when something is wrong with what arrives. Those are in the next section.
11.2If you are a consumer in the EU: there is no 14-day right of withdrawal for kits printed with your artwork. The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalized: Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights and, in Hungarian law, Section 29(1)(c) of Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.). Your rights when goods are faulty or not as ordered are not affected.
11.3A consumer who orders kits without any print keeps the statutory right of withdrawal. Write to wlwyb@wlwyb.com within 14 days of delivery and send the kits back complete and unused, at your own cost. We then refund the price and the cost of standard delivery.
11.4Please do not send anything back without writing to us first. We cannot refund goods returned without our agreement.
12. If something is wrong with your order
12.1A missing part: tell us which part and we send it, free of charge.
12.2Transport damage, a wrong quantity, a wrong kit, or a print that does not match the file you approved: write to wlwyb@wlwyb.com within 14 days of delivery, with your order number and photos. For transport damage, please also photograph the outer carton and keep it until we have answered.
12.3We put it right by sending replacement parts or replacement kits at our cost. If we cannot replace them in a reasonable time, we refund what you paid for the affected kits.
12.4These are not defects: artwork printed as you approved it, including a low-resolution file or a version you chose that shows poorly on the brick; the difference between color on a screen and color in print; small differences in brick color.
12.5If you order as a business, a defect that could not be seen on delivery must be reported within 12 months of delivery. After that, warranty claims are excluded.
12.6If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights. Under Hungarian law you have a statutory warranty of conformity for two years from delivery (the Civil Code, Act V of 2013, and Government Decree 373/2021 (VI. 30.)). The 14 days above are a practical request, not a limit on that warranty.
12.7Complaints go to wlwyb@wlwyb.com and are answered within one business day.
12.8A consumer whose complaint we could not settle can turn to a conciliation board. The board at our seat is the Budapest Conciliation Board (Budapesti Békéltető Testület), 1016 Budapest, Krisztina krt. 99., Hungary, bekelteto.testulet@bkik.hu. You can also turn to the board where you live, or to the consumer protection authority, which in Hungary is the government office of the county or of Budapest.
13. Liability
13.1Nothing in these terms limits our liability for damage we cause intentionally, for harm to life, body or health, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Hungarian law.
13.2If you order as a business, and subject to the sentence above: we are not liable for lost profit, lost business, or any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it. This includes the cost of an event, a campaign or a gift the kits were meant for.
13.3These limits do not apply to a consumer's statutory rights.
13.4Neither of us is liable for a delay or failure caused by events outside reasonable control, such as a strike, a customs hold, a carrier disruption, a natural disaster or an act of government. We tell you as soon as we know, and the 6 weeks are extended by the length of the delay.
14. Your data
14.1We are the data controller for the personal data in your order and for the artwork you upload. What we collect, why, who processes it and for how long is in our privacy notice.
14.2The short version: we keep your original artwork file, the approved file and the preview for 48 months from your order, and then delete them. An upload that never becomes an order is deleted after 30 days. You can ask us to delete your artwork at any time at privacy@wlwyb.com.
15. Governing law and disputes
15.1These terms and every contract made under them are governed by Hungarian law. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) does not apply.
15.2The courts of Hungary have jurisdiction over any dispute.
15.3If you are a consumer, this changes nothing about the protection the mandatory rules of your home country give you, and you can bring a claim before the courts of the country where you live.
16. Changes to these terms
16.1We may change these terms. The version in force when you place an order is the version that governs that order. The version number and date are at the top.
16.2If a court finds one of these terms invalid, the rest stay in force.
